Pinning from Pinterest: Cille Grut

One of my favourite things to do is spend countless hours on Pinterest. I get so inspired by being able search though all the beautiful home interiors and keeping snippets of what I like in a board, preparing me for when I finally own my own home.

As I am currently a student, with no actual experience of designing a persons home, I have decided to create a "Pinning from Pinterest" series. Something I will post once a week, where I find my favourite designs, and create a collage of furniture, inspired by the picture with my own twist. I am well aware I have not an Interior Designer, as the pieces I may put together may not be to your liking which is fine.

The image below is by Danish interior stylist, Cille Grut.  I love how the walls give a contrast in chart by the uses of colour. The darker grey perceives a much more contemporary feel with the gallery wall. Whereas, the lighter colour grey highlights the beautiful periodic features which makes the space feel homely. I took inspiration from all the furniture within the image. I really like the 3 different chairs with all different material. The yellow chair is the collage is a shape and design I think could work really well within the space if upholstered in a botanical fabric. Tying in the grey's and browns of the room, giving a pop of colour to transition into the darker side of the room.
There's a mixture of hardware within the room, the chrome giving the space a more modern feel, then contrasting with the wood hardware from the couch to tie into the brown leather seats. I wanted the tie in all the hardware and design to make it not seem random.  Such as, I kept the design from the coffee table to match the footstool, but then made sure it tied in with the same colour of the couch.
