Travel Tuesdays: Summers in Santorini

I visited Santorini about two years ago. It was absolutely beautiful as I imagined. I stayed in Fira, and hired a bike to travel around which was really useful! Oia is definitely the prettiest part of the island I thought. As beautiful as the island was, I can say I definitely wouldn't rush back anytime soon. It is definitely a place to see but it isn't something I would like to go back to on a yearly basis. Here are some of my images I took whilst I was there. I hope you enjoy!

Personally, my favourite beaches are in England. There is just something different about them compared to any other beach I've visited the world. I've listed two beaches here that are situated on the South Coast of England and are perfect beach to visit all year round. West Witterings is a perfect location to walk. If I'm taking my dog, I will usually park at West Witterings and then walk to East. They have some beautiful beach house along the front, lots currently being renovated and also get spots for holiday rentals!

Another beach I like to go to is Hengistbury Head. Its a really god day out as there is so much beach to see, and towards Muderford they have beautiful English beach huts along the front, which I am sure some can be rented out to stay. They're quite small but has the most perfect view right o the beach.

TRAVEL TUESDAY: WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THE BROAD ON YOUR DAY OFF?

The “veil and the vault” arguably is the perfect description for the concept and design of this building. The veil is a white exoskeleton that covers the exterior walls and roof, made from 2,500 fibreglass- reinforced concrete elements, allowing daylight to gently pass through.

The museum is located on Grand Avenue in downtown LA, across the street from Frank Gehry's Walt Disney Concert Hall. However, during my visit I did not find that the Broad’s design was intentionally trying to mimic or compete with Gehry’s curvature, if anything, it did the opposite.

Once entering, you find yourself in a completely unexpected cave like lobby. The interior almost changes any perception of what you thought the interior would be like, judging from the outside. The galleries are located on the first and third floor, connected via an escalator up through the vault which houses the storage of the gallery. 

A stair case wraps around the elevator which transports you back to the first floor, Windows are punched into the central mass to enable visitors to peer into the storage. This was particularly for memory interesting then the gallery itself. 









I visited the museum back in March this year, and it was still a very popular place to visit even on a weekday, so I would recommend getting there possibly early morning if you do not want to wait. I hope you enjoyed this post and its inspired you to go to the museum!
